Showshow much the tech never any coolant line to any TDI turbo ever. Only gas models. TDI= oil cooled only. The EGR cooler could leak coolant and go back into the intake through the EGR. Remove the intercooler and pressure test it underwater. Only other place coolant sees intake is the EGR cooler.
. #3. External leak on the EGR cooler, not internal so water wasn't going into the intake. That's good. The fact that coolant temp was close to normal would seem to indicate coolant was flowing. With the convoluted plumbing these coolant systems have maybe you didn't loose all the coolant.
Its had a remap and has 160,000k on her. She still pulls like hell, such a great car. Last wekend I did the annual Oil and filters change, and new disks and pads. For the first time in the 9 years I've owned her, I have 2 oil leaks. One is from the air inlet into the bottom of the Intercooler from the turbo, and the other from the EGR valve.
